Meet the Folkers

If your idea of "folk" is harmonicas and hippies, think again. Last week's Newport Folk Fest prove, today's scene has plenty of style to spare.
The Newport Folk Fest (now in its fifty-first year) may be famous for breaking legends like Bob Dylan and Joan Baez, but this year it played host to a new generation of folkers—Jim James (of My Morning Jacket), Daniel Martin Moore, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, among others—who are bringing cool back to the genre.
