"MY PRIMARY CONCERN HAS ALWAYS BEEN RESPECT FOR MY CRAFT, WHICH IS NOT EXACTLY AN ART, BUT WHICH DEPENDS ON AN ARTIST FOR ITS EXISTENCE."
The Pierre Bergé-Yves Saint Laurent Foundation and the Petit Palais, Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris, present the first retrospective of Yves Saint Laurent's life's work. Around 300 haute couture and ready-to-wear models on display span the decades from the couturier's debut at Dior in 1958, with the famous “Trapèze” collection, up to the sumptuous evening dresses of 2002. Numerous photographs and films illustrate the historical context, the development of Yves Saint Laurent's style and the foundations of his work.
From 11/03 - 29/08 at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris, Petit Palais, Paris.
Opening hours Tue - Sun 10.00 - 18.00
