Maison Martin Margiela E-Boutique Opening

This month, Maison Martin Margiela joined the list of brands to open an online flagship store. The store, which opened its virtual doors recently, will of course be a hub for fans to discover the latest news and information about the brand and its products, as well as serving as a shop which will allow fans across the globe to purchase their favourite pieces from their own home.

Holt's ICON Autumn 2010 window displays

Luxury retailer holt renfrew revealed the icon autumn 2010 window displays at its department stores across canada. dedicated to iconography, holt renfrew’s creative director john gerhardt drew inspiration from the current design trend of fashion houses digging deep into their archives to further define their aesthetics and image. the windows celebrate a series of, yes indeed, iconic brands with the most recognizable images of our time that are inspired by art, architecture, music and traditions. to spice it all up, the installations include whimsical references to the personality or cultural heritage of each designer. holt renfrew’s main department stores are located in vancouver, toronto andmontreal.

DUMBO Underwater: Artist Visualizes New York City Under Water

Artist Eric Corriel has created a video installation in Brooklyn, New York that dramatizes and visualizes what that area might look like if the East River overflowed. His piece was inspired by imagining New York City under water as a result of sea-level rise. He has titled the project DUMBO Underwater in reference to the Dumbo neighborhood of Brooklyn where it is set. The RAW Magazine, created by the Dutch denim leader, gives readers an insider view into the world of G-Star including campaign shoots with Liv Tyler and Magnus Carlsen, capsule collections such as Raw Essentials and G-Star Raw by Marc Newson, events such as New York Fashion Week, and everything you need to know about 3D denim. VOGUE PARIS’ 90TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY

VOGUE PARIS celebrated its 90th anniversary last Sep. 30th at the Hotel Pozzo di Borgo. Carine Roitfeld hosted the masked ball that was inspired by Stanley Kubrick's film Eyes Wide Shut.

V Magazine's iPad and iPhone App

The V67, The New York Issue is now available on the iPad With Lady Gaga and Marc Jacobs on the cover. Mario Testino shot the two icons and included an exclusive montage showcasing his work in V67. With the support of Jacobs, the application also features a series of Juergen Teller campaign images for a variety of Marc Jacobs brands. Plus, you can shop his e-commerce site, whether it’s in class, or at work, wherever you need a distraction. The app also includes an interactive fashion quiz, and a “Be on the cover” feature. Luxury label Loewe have released some pictures from their lookbook highlighting their Spring/Summer line to open 2011.

Karim Rashid “Data-Driven” Exhibition

With over 3,000 works successfully executed in areas of art, fashion, consumer-based markets, and interior design; Karim Rashid is one of the forefront figures of abstract art today. His newest project data-driven reflects Fujifilm digital works in exuberant colors. data-driven is a hybrid of scientific thinking and art, the result leading to free-flowing organic shapes and colors. This exhibit is being exhibited at The Spoke Club in Toronto until October 23rd

Faces Exhibition @ Electric Blue Gallery Recap

The Faces Exhibition, hosted by the Electric Blue Gallery, features artwork based around the theme of how designer labels has come to manifest itself into our lives and as a culture. Participating artists include Zevs, Eine, Cezar, D*Face, Jasper Goodall and Rafał Zajko as they each occupy eleven different streets all within close proximity.

VALENTINO AND GAP TO LAUNCH CAPSULE COLLECTION

Gap have just announced their first collaboration with Italian fashion house Valentino, to celebrate the opening of their flagship Milan store.
The collection will launch in November, and comprise a capsule line of womenswear designs based on iconic Gap pieces.Designed by Valentino’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, the collection will be sold in select branches of Gap in Italy, Paris and London, with styles going into the Oxford Street flagship and Dover Street Market.
The Valentino collection is the latest in a series of well-edited designer collaborations for Gap, following Pierre Hardy’s ongoing footwear range, Stella McCartney’s well received children’s line in 2009, and a line of shirt designs by New York designers Rodarte, Doo-Ri Chung and Thakoon in 2007.

COMME des GARÇONS Website Launch

COMME des GARÇONS have finally launched their official website; the virtual location showcases a modest selection of the numerous collaborations undertaken by the Japanese label over the past few years in conjunction with contemporary artists including: Mondongo, The Quay Brothers and the recent works completed in collaboration with Ai Weiwei. Whilst the future of the site is unclear, the current format allows fans to glimpse over some of the most celebrated projects to date.
