For the unaware, Broadway and East 17th in New York City represented an integral part of the pop art movement. The original location of Andy Warhol’s “Factory”, it was around the area that Warhol previously handed out copies of his Interview Magazine with an eclectic backdrop of transients, drug users and homeless. Artist Rob Pruitt originally made the move to New York cause of Warhol and offers his own tribute to the famous artist via a 10-foot-tall chrome statue known simply as “The Andy Monument”. The statue features Warhol, circa 1977 with contemporary dress including Levi’s 501s, a Brooks Brothers tweed jacket, Polaroid camera around the neck and a Bloomingdales bag in one hand.

O local original da “fábrica” de Warhol, que foi nessa região que Warhol entregava cópias da sua Interview Magazine com um cenário eclético de transeuntes, usuários de drogas e moradores de rua. O artista Rob Pruitt se mudou para Nova York por causa de Warhol e ele oferece a sua própria homenagem ao famoso artista através de uma estátua em cromo de 10 metros de altura conhecida simplesmente como "The Andy Monument ". A estátua apresenta Warhol de 1977 vestindo roupas contemporâneas incluindo jeans 501 da Levi's, um paletó de tweed Brooks Brothers, uma câmera Polaroid ao redor do pescoço e uma sacola da Bloomingdales em uma mão.
