Gap have just announced their first collaboration with Italian fashion house Valentino, to celebrate the opening of their flagship Milan store.
The collection will launch in November, and comprise a capsule line of womenswear designs based on iconic Gap pieces.Designed by Valentino’s creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, the collection will be sold in select branches of Gap in Italy, Paris and London, with styles going into the Oxford Street flagship and Dover Street Market.
The Valentino collection is the latest in a series of well-edited designer collaborations for Gap, following Pierre Hardy’s ongoing footwear range, Stella McCartney’s well received children’s line in 2009, and a line of shirt designs by New York designers Rodarte, Doo-Ri Chung and Thakoon in 2007.
